As of June 16th of this year, Volaris will start operating a new route Phoenix – Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit (PHX-PVR), with the aim of expanding its air connectivity to this region of the Mexican Pacific.

Last February 8th, the tickets sale for this new permanent flight, which will connect southwestern United States with Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, started. Operating two days a week: Friday and Sunday.

“With the route between Phoenix and Puerto Vallarta, Volaris consolidates its presence in the international market, grows its portfolio of destinations and positions itself as the Mexican airline with the greatest offer of flights from one of the most important touristic destinations in Mexico”, The executives of the airline mentioned.

The expectations of this route are high. Phoenix is known to have a large Mexican population (last census over 41% of the population identified themselves as hispanic) so this will bode well for Puerto Vallarta.

On the other hand, the flight to Phoenix joins the recent announcements of links to the United States and Canada, as is the case of Suncountry that announced a new flight from Las Vegas. And Swoop that earlier this year introduced new direct flights from Hamilton and Abbotsford, Canada.
