The head of the Municipal Institute for Women of Puerto Vallarta, Bertha Leticia Dueñas Aréchiga, officially presented to Mayor Arturo Dávalos Peña, the program of activities that will be taking place from from March 4 to March 10, for the International Women´s Day. Renowned speakers will talk about empowerment, health and challenges that women currently face.

At this meeting, leaders and officials of the municipal government met, as well as the president of the DIF Puerto Vallarta System, Candelaria Tovar de Dávalos, who has been played an important role in the work carried out by the current administration in terms of equality, equity, development and well-being of the Vallarta people.

Regarding the activities to be carried out, Bertha Leticia Dueñas announced that these will begin on the 4th with the ‘Forum among Extraordinary Women’, aimed especially at the workers of the City Council. This will take place at 5:00 in the afternoon, in the meeting room of the Municipal Administrative Unit (UMA).

He mentioned that by Tuesday, March 5, they will have the participation of the young speaker Fernanda Gonzalez Viramontes, teenager who has won the National Youth Award and the Human Rights Award, among other awards, who will offer three talks. The first talk will take place at 8:30 am, in Technical Junior High School No.3. At 11:30 in the morning, she will be in the No. 56 junior high school in Ixtapa and at 3:30 in the afternoon in the same delegation’s Dome, with the topic ‘Adolescent Empowerment’.

On March 6, at 5:00 in the afternoon, Dr. Cynthia Lizzette Arreola Aguirre, will give at the UMA facilities, the conference ‘Health in Women Today’, and on Thursday March 7, will be held the conferences: ‘A la Cima con Tacones’, by the outstanding lecturer Nelly Meráz, at 10:00 in the morning at the Canto del Sol hotel, and at 5:00 in the afternoon, the theme’ Challenges of the Woman in Front to Globalization ‘, by Rosalinda Mariscal, in the Municipal Administrative Unit.

Dueñas Aréchiga indicated that for Friday, March 8, the recognition to ‘Extraordinary Women’ will take place in the central courtyard of the presidency, which on this occasion has a special turn, “By offering women non-traditional activities such as blacksmithing, carpentry, masonry. The program will conclude with a 2 Classes of Physical Activation with Dance’, the first of these on Saturday, at 8:30 in the morning in the Ixtapa Dome, and the second on Sunday, in the main square of the colony Buenos Aires. All these activities are open to the general public.
