The inhabitants the state of Querétaro and Guanajuato, will no longer be able to arrive by air to Puerto Vallarta due to the cancellation of the route by Volaris.
This represents a drop of almost 1 million tourists a year arriving on this route to Puerto Vallarta, according to data from 2015 to 2017.
The decision made by the CEO and founder of Volaris, Enrique Beltranena, is due to the 16% increase in the costs of the Querétaro airport, which makes it financially impossible to maintain flights to Puerto Vallarta, Chicago, Chihuahua and Guadalajara.
It is worth mentioning that this tourist market niche for this destination usually travels by land, however, with adequate planning, air transportation represents an even lower investment.
At the moment, the tourism trust of Puerto Vallarta has not mentioned anything regarding this canceled route.
